Rescued

I was cast down, and you raised me up.

I was left alone, without a friend. I cried out to you. You came running to me.

You’ve never let me during the depths of my darkest times. In your love, you waited. You were patient. You tended me wounds. You healed my mind, and showed me real love.

The kind of love that doesn’t change based on my best and worst days. Though my father and mother forsake me, you never do.

I don’t know rejection. I know adoption.

I don’t know loneliness. I know completeness.

I don’t know confusion. I know clarity and peace.

I don’t know poverty. I know riches.

I am raised up and seated with you.

I am not moved, but you move me by the heaviness, pain, and suffering of those who I was once like. Until you came to me.

You, Lord, are my bright and morning star.

You are the love I seek.

You are the peace I desire.

You are the covering that protects me in all my ways.

You are all I need.

Grant me the gift of reflecting all that you are to all those around me. Increase in me so that others will experience your redeeming love, receive your endless forgiveness and be transformed by following you. May they be forever changed in the light of your love and glory.

I love you, Lord. Thank you for your unwavering and unending love.

“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” 2 Corinthians 1
