About a week ago, I awoke to a unsettling dream.
We were living in our old home on a street named Alamandine. I walked from our garage door out into the driveway, all the way to the street. It was daytime, but it was as quiet as the darkest night. The sky was a greenish yellow mixed with brown and gray. I would describe it as the color of bile and smoke. I could see clearly around me but the sun was gone, there were no clouds. Just dense air. It was as though our home was in a bubble or force-field.
There were no cars on the street. No cars parked on the street either. No sounds of cars, children, or barking dogs. No movement of any kind. Not even the sound or movement of a breeze or wind. All was still and quiet. I looked to my right and saw houses, and to my left and saw houses. There was no one outside marveling in silence like me.
The house directly across the street had been raised up on its lot, about 50 feet in the air, making it seem like our home was in a crater, but neither our home or that home or any of the homes on our street were damaged. I remember looking up at it and thinking to myself that is was strange, but there was no fear on the inside of me. It was as though the house had been raised up to protect our house, or atleast that’s what I sensed in the dream. The grass was still green, but all of the trees were gone, including the trees that backed into the creek behind our home.
I turned around to walk back into my house through the garage, when floating above my house was a brown cartograph of the contiguous United States of America. Rather than the map bring rich with green vegetation, it was brown, as though the entire landscape of the USA had dried up, withered, or died. I even thought that maybe there was a fire that swept through the U.S. This is the second dream I’ve had of a U.S map in the past three months. Only this time the cartograph proceeded to turn counter-clockwise very slowly, as though a hand was very slowly spinning it until it was fully upside down.
I began speaking out loud, “Oh No. Oh No” having this knowing that what was bad sign for our country was not a sign of personal calamity for me. I calmly walked inside where we were preparing for a birthday party. There were pink and white streamers that had been cut and were being prepared to be hung throughout the house. There was little light coming in the window since the air was so dense.
The last thing I remember was saying, “I just wanted this birthday to feel normal,” and then I woke up.
I’ve been asking God for interpretation of this dream. I’m not someone who obsesses over the future, but when I woke up I was concerned. I’ve thought about the dream everyday since I’ve had it. Whether it’s biological warfare or something else, I don’t quite know. I have searched the scriptures and read about the pale horse and looked up the significance of the colors in the dream. The pink and white streamers and with my birthday being in February, I had the sense that this would happen in the new year. I know that it is a warning of what’s to come if we who belong to the Lord don’t intercede for our nation daily. There’s still time.
The Lord personally called me to pray every day and take communion weekly leading up to our presidential election. We are at a critical time in the history of our nation, and our nation is steeped in sin, thumbing our noses at the Lord in defiance for years despite his hand of favor and mercy has continually being outstretched to us. The Lord took me to Daniel 9 and I wrote these verses in by prayer journal to pray out loud every day for The United States of America:
“O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his commands, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame- the men and women of America and all of the people of America. We are covered with shame because we have sinned against you. You Lord God are merciful and forgiving even though we have rebelled against you. We have not obeyed you Lord or kept the commands you gave us through Jesus. All of America has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.
Therefore, the judgements written in your word have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our fathers and our rulers by bringing us into great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to the United States. Just as it is written in your word, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring disaster upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him.
Now our Lord God who brought us out of bondage with a mighty hand, and who made for himself a name that endures to this day, WE HAVE SINNED. We have done wrong, O Lord. In keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from our land. Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made our nation and your people a scorn to all those around us.
Now, Lord, please hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, look with favor on the holy nation you bore into this world. Have mercy on the United States of America. God, please have mercy! Open your eyes and see the desolation of this country, wallowing in sin, corruption, and wickedness. I’m not asking you to do this because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy, O Lord. Please forgive us. Please forgive the U.S. Please forgive the U.S.A. Heal us. Hear me and act. For your sake, God do not delay. The U.S.A. is still yours. We bear the name of the Most High God. In God we trust. In your we put our hope. Deliver us and return us to you.”
I am reading a book by Derek Prince called Shaping History Through Fasting And Prayer. It begins it Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation for a Day of National Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer. Read below:
[A proclamation for a national day of humiliation.] to implore Him in His infinite goodness to soften the hearts, enlighten the minds, and quicken the consciences of those in rebellion, that they may lay down their arms and speedily return to their allegiance to the United States, that they may not be utterly destroyed, that the effusion of blood may be stayed, and that unity and fraternity may be restored, and peace established throughout allour borders.” Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, cordially concurring with the Congress of the United States in the penitential and pious sentiments expressed in the aforesaid resolution, and heartily approving of the devotional design and purpose thereof, do hereby appoint the first Thursday of August next to be observed by the people of the United States as a dayof national humiliation and prayer. I do hereby further invite and request the heads of the executive departments of this Government, together with all legislators, all judges and magistrates, and all other persons exercising authority in the land, whether civil, military, or naval, and all soldiers,seamen, and marines in the national service, and all the other loyal and law-abiding people of the United States, to assemble in their preferred places of public worship on that day, and there to render to the Almighty and Merciful Ruler of the Universe such homage and such confessions, and to offer to Him such supplications, as the Congress of the United States have, in their aforesaid resolution, so solemnly, so earnestly, and so reverently recommended. I personally never knew a United States that was led in such a manner, but I will lead it now- in my home, with my family. I will speak against the evil that threatens to overtake a nation belonging to the Lord. I will stand with my arms raised high to the creator of this nation and this world, and I will beg forgiveness for our sins so that God will heal us. I will face ridicule and scorn from those who oppose The Lord, knowing that he opposes those who oppose me. I will stand for righteousness, even if I stand alone. Will you stand with me? Will you wage war in the spirit for the future of America? For your freedom? For your family? For your business? For the Church? Let it begin in me, Lord, for your glory. Amen.
