Come Alive

What an honor.

We have been called and chosen as his vessels to go into the darkness and proclaim light and life through belief in Jesus. I was reading The Prayer of Peace by St. Francis this morning in my quiet time. I don’t know if you’re like me, but I have always asked God to use me to show others that He is real, that His love is real, and that His forgiveness is real. To go into hopeless situations and speak HOPE. RESTORATION and LIFE. To be a vessel that introduces the transforming power of Jesus.

His word says he came to give us life, and life more abundantly. Before I could do that for others, He had to do that for me. I’m so thankful that he met me where I was and changed me with his love and forgiveness.

I want to share the prayer of St. Francis here for you to read. This world needs a manifestation of these attributes, now more than ever. I hope you’ll pray this prayer with me.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

I love this song by Brandon Lake called House of Miracles. Every time I hear it, I think of Lazarus. I think of Talitha. I think of the Valley of Dry Bones. I think of myself. I think of everyone who draws breath but is still spiritually dead. I speak new life in the name of Jesus over you.

Lord, awaken your church. Compel your remnant. Stir your Spirit. Make your people Come Alive! Let us be agents of change, in Your Name, for Your Glory and Your Kingdom. Amen.

“Therefore, prophesy. Tell them, ‘God, the Master, says: I’ll dig up your graves and bring you out alive—O my people! Then I’ll take you straight to the land of Israel. When I dig up graves and bring you out as my people, you’ll realize that I am God. I’ll breathe my life into you and you’ll live. Then I’ll lead you straight back to your land and you’ll realize that I am God. I’ve said it and I’ll do it. God’s Decree.’” Ezekiel 37: 12-14
